Waste of time.

The harpsichord is an under-utilized instrument in the realm of contemporary music. There needs to be more harpsichord and less power chords. Also, harmonicas should only be used for folk songs, so don't be busting out no harmonica solos in the middle of rock songs. Suede's Obsessions and The Libertines' Can't Stand Me Now come to mind.

So my brother calls me up yesterday and tells me that his friend is going to loan him $200,000 to start his mortgage company. He was telling me that he really only needs around $70,000, and that by the time I'm ready to move up to LA, his company will be up and ready to go. He insists that I live in his over-priced apartment complex in Orange County, where he pays $1,650 a month for a one bedroom apartment. I can afford it, he says, once I start working for him.

Then he says that I'll be in charge of managing the employees and the money, and he'll be in charge of the sales. Fair enough, I though, since my social skills aren't exactly as good as his. But I will say that I can talk to strangers with confidence for the most part, it's just I can't really talk much to people that I want to impress. Maybe that's my problem, that I don't want to say anything stupid so a lot of times I don't say anything at all.

All I know is that I look forward to sleeping in past 10 in the morning once I move up to LA. Also, if I end up making as much money as he does now, you can be sure I won't be blowing it on luxury cars and gambling. I'm going to invest in mutual funds and other stocks and bonds, and be all hardcore stock market guy. Just so I can retire by the time I'm 35 and tell the world to fuck itself.

In any case, the friend that is loaning money to my brother, I thought he was a real dumbass. I used to get into fights with him all the time whenever he was at our place, and one time I even elbowed him in the back while I was in high school during a leadership meeting, only because I was a hardcore bully. I used to make fun of the fact that he couldn't pass geometry, but look at him now. Retired at the age of 27, that son of a bitch. Bought a house for himself, and one for his parents.

He got a job at google the 2nd week it opened, and if you haven't heard of google, well, you must hate the internet. But now that google is big, he got compensated big time and can live the rest of his life masturbating and loaning large sums of money to friends. Didn't even have to go to college, which goes to show you that education is a big waste of time. Of course, my brother is the other shining example. Soon, I hope to be another, since I didn't do too well in college either. I got a degree, but I could have easily graduated college if I went right after junior high. Probably would have done better too, because I would have actually tried.

But education is a big waste of time unless you like learning things, which I didn't. All I care about is money, and if that's all you care about, then you don't need a degree.
