I must say, I didn't really expect to like Ian Brown's Solarized album, partly because I heard the Keep What Ya Got single (yes, the one with Noel Gallagher) and thought the song sounded very generic and boring. I have liked a lot of Ian Brown songs that he's released these past few years, but have always been more of a Stone Roses man. Sort of like the way it is with Morrissey and the Smiths. In any case, I really like this new album, perhaps even more than Golden Greats.I might be going to see my co-worker's band at the Brick by Brick in mid March, and tickets are $7. That's funny because I saw Muse at the Brick by Brick not too long ago for about the same price, and I didn't think his band is as big as Muse. But I really have no idea how things are with the local alternative rock scene in San Diego, so his band might be pretty big for all I know. But that would be funny, because he's always reluctant to let me listen to his band because he thinks I'll criticize them too harshly. He would be right.
